Scope and Content

Consists of two booklets of the Harrisburg Club charter, by-laws, officers and members for 1894 and 1898; a dinner program for Hon. John B. McPherson by the members of the Bar of Dauphin County given at the Club, March 30, 1899; a dinner program for John K. Tener held at the Club January 9, 1915; and an invitation to the inauguration ceremonies of Hon. John K. Tener as Governor of Pennsylvania, January 17, 1911.

Background

The Harrisburg Club was incorporated in December, 1884, as a permanent social club in the City of Harrisburg. Its membership included many of the prominent business men of the city and surrounding areas, as well as non-resident members from Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, York and other cities.
