Scope and Content

The collection contains the commissions issued to William Crawford Armor by the Governor of Pennsylvania appointing him Notary Public in the City of Harrisburg, 1891, 1895, 1899, 1903, 1907; a certificate from the Historical Society of Dauphin County designating him an original member of the organization, 1904; a list of the officers and committees of the Society in 1907; a paper by William D. Riley on "Locusts and Grasshoppers," and their involvement in Febrile or Eruptive Diseases, 1872; a genealogical research paper on the ancestors of William Crawford Armour; and a scrapbook of clippings, 1868-1872.

Two additional folders have been added to the collection. They were found in a box in the closet with business papers, and contain photocopies of two diaries of William C. Armor - October, 1866 to March, 1867 and August to December, 1867.
